Value Engineering

"Within a very short time the value engineering project carried out by SCHULER has proved to be very effective. It has notably improved the value of our furniture." This is the statement of Paul Lüchtefeld, project manager at Sedus.

This was genuine interdisciplinary team work! In cooperation with the experts of Sedus the SCHULER consultants optimized the entire cabinet furniture program by means of value engineering. The approach applied was competent and pragmatic. This enabled to increase the customer's benefit and to reduce manufacturing cost at the same time.

Sedus
Ensured planning scope and reinforced design platform

Sedus places high demands in the performance characteristics of the office furniture collection. But also the "inner values" of furniture play an important role. The keywords are: Easy to assemble, subsequent delivery service and supplementing.

The task of this engineering project was to ensure these distinguishing features and at the same time to reduce significantly the material and manufacturing costs of the furniture.

The interdisciplinary project team was built by employees from sales, product management, design, production, purchasing and controlling. The points of view of the customer and the manufacturer, the benefit and the cost were taken as a basis. Subsequently actions were identified and numbered which contributed to the increase in value of the furniture.
