Lots of personal encounters in the trade fair month of July

One month, two trade fairs. SCHULER Consulting thanks you for your visit! Read more about DACH + HOLZ and HOLZHANDWERK here.

"Experience. See. Make" - Experiencing solutions live at HOLZHANDWERK

Under the motto "Experience. See. Make", the woodworking industry finally met up in person again in Nuremberg. This year, we were featured on the HOMAG stand and presented Digital Value Stream Optimisation live from the trade fair.

"Digital value stream optimisation is attracting a great deal of interest in the industry. Above all because, firstly, there are hardly any prerequisites in the IT infrastructure for the use of digital value stream optimisation and, secondly, there are no compromises in production in terms of machine types, manufacturers, year of manufacture, etc. The digital Westrom can be connected to anything. Everything can be connected to the digital Westrom - from the manual workstation to the machine line and from the material trolley parking area to the roller conveyor buffer." - Bastian Schulz, Team Leader Industry 4.0

There was plenty to discover on the HOMAG stand. In Nuremberg, the world market leader presented solutions for:

  • ... solid wood processing
  • ... the high-performance, flexible and digital workshop
  • ... automation in production
  • ... software and digitalisation
  • ... service and modernisation

"Timber construction - from A to Z" - that was DACH + HOLZ

Based on its new trade fair concept "Timber construction from A to Z", WEINMANN presented a comprehensive portfolio ranging from machines to software and services. A live demonstration was the multi-function bridge WALLTeq M-380 in combination with a carpentry table. The software partner granIT displayed the possibilities offered by its MES system for production planning and management. In the service area, in addition to the WEINMANN teams of Service and Academy, our consultants from SCHULER Consulting were also available for meetings.

The letters "P" for partnership, "I" for investment and "M" for the German word "Mitarbeitende" (employees) were particularly emphasised in the new stand design and thus directed the attention to the focus topics of the industry.

  • Where can I find partners with whom I can be successful together?
  • Which investments are right, and when?
  • How do I keep valuable employees in the company, what solutions are there for the shortage of skilled workers?

Especially the topic "I as in investments" was lively discussed in talks with our SCHULER team: Visitors from the timber construction sector are currently mainly looking for support with investment and strategy advice. Urgent questions here are how the next growth step can be mastered - be it by expanding the portfolio, e.g. entering element production, increasing production output (greenfield / brownfield planning) or by analysing how current resources can be used efficiently. These are questions that companies of all sizes bring to the table. In this sense, the "I" for us also stands for individual solution - the basis for sustainable success.
